The potatoes come from a Benefit-sharing Fund training plot, overseen by a group of farmers and supported by the National Agricultural Institute of Papua New Guinea. The Benefit-sharing Fund is a programme by the FAO International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture.
