Americans, Saudis and Israelis have become monsters in the eyes of the rest of the world even if in their own minds they are endowed with special privilege due to their being “Exceptional,” “Chosen by God” or “Guardians of Mecca and Medina.” All three countries share a dishonest sense of entitlement that supports the fiction that their oppressive and illegal behavior is somehow perfectly legitimate.

The UN health agency, WHO, announced on 9 July 2019 that dozens of new drugs have been added to the list of essential medicines that every country should have, including new cancer treatments that can be swallowed rather than injected.
WHO/T. Habjouqa | Raghad who lives in a refugee camp in Jordan, suffers from type 1 diabetes and requires daily administration of insulin, but finds it hard to keep the insulin cool in the summer with limited electricity in the camp. She exercises to stay healthy.

The less predictable threats represented by small-time criminals who have opportunistically embraced terrorism, are a source of growing concern, the UN Security Council heard on 9 July 2019.
UNODC | Many countries continue to face terrorism threats.
That warning came from Tamara Makarenko, an International Consultant, who works with the UN Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), speaking at an open debate on threats to international peace and security.

Heavy flooding and landslides in the Rohingya refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh, has left thousands of children and families in an increasingly dire situation with critical infrastructure damaged or destroyed, the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on 9 July 2019 warned, while scaling up relief efforts to those vulnerable children.

OECD and FAO highlight role of diets, urbanization, emissions and trade in outlook for next decade

ROME, 9 July 2019 (FAO)* — Global demand for agricultural products is projected to grow by 15 percent over the coming decade, while agricultural productivity growth is expected to increase slightly faster, causing inflation-adjusted prices of the major agricultural commodities to remain at or below their current levels, according to an annual report by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization.
