How the U.S. Government Is Controlled by Its Armaments Firms

Human Wrongs Watch

By Eric Zuesse – TRANSCEND Media Service*

Unlike corporations that sell to consumers, Lockheed Martin and the other top contractors to the U.S. Government are highly if not totally dependent upon sales to governments, for their profits, especially sales to their own government, which they control — they control their home market, which is the U.S. Government, and they use it (their government) to sell to its allied governments (via the NATO and other U.S.-run weapons-marketing operations), all of which foreign governments constitute the export markets for their products and services.

These corporations effectively control the U.S. Government, and they control its weapons-marketers, such as NATO (in addition to, of course, the U.S. Government itself, which has the world’s largest sales-force peddling specifically U.S.-made weapons to foreign countries).

Women Journalists Threatened with Sexual Violence, Hate Speech

Human Wrongs Watch

UNITED NATIONS, New York, 17 June 2022 (UNFPA)* – “I have gone to the police after receiving threats of violence,” Nistula Hebbar told UNFPA (UN Population Fund), describing the relentless onslaught of abuse she experiences online. As a politics reporter for The Hindu, her words and her reputation are her livelihood. But as a woman, the cost for doing this job is her safety.

For others, the cost is their careers, their health or even their lives.

The Threat of a Large-Scale Famine

Human Wrongs Watch

Disasters Threaten Human Civilization

.

Among the greatest dangers to human civilization are nuclear war and catastrophic climate change, dangers which also threaten the biosphere.

In addition to these two existential threats, humans also face the threat of an extremely large-scale famine, involving billions of people, rather than millions.

The beginning of this famine, which could involve much of the world’s population by 2050, can already be seen.

Human Wrongs Watch

MADRID, Jun 17 2022 (IPS)* – In addition to slave selling and buying deals in public squares and garages in ‘liberated’ Libya, as already reported by IPS time ago, a widespread exploitation of men, women, and children has been carried out for years at refugee camps worldwide.

One of them is a Malawi refugee camp, where such inhumane practice has been reported by the UN Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Malawian Police Service.

“I even witnessed a kind of Sunday market, where people come to buy children who were then exploited in situations of forced labour and prostitution,” on 11 June said UNODC’s Maxwell Matewere.

Terrified of Freedom: Why Most Human Beings Are Embracing the Global Elite’s Technotyranny

Human Wrongs Watch

By Robert J. Burrowes, Ph.D. – TRANSCEND Media Service*

Robert Burrowes

In early 2020, the Global Elite launched its long-planned coup to capture control of the human population by killing off a substantial proportion and technologically imprisoning those left alive as transhuman slaves.

A primary intended outcome of this agenda is to enable the Elite to own and completely control use of the Earth’s remaining resources.

Using the World Economic Forum (WEF) as its primary agent, and with the complicity of key international organizations and all national governments (after some hiccoughs requiring the assassination of five national presidents), the Global Elite has gone about progressively implementing the many components of its plan for a full takeover of Planet Earth. US Leads Sanctions Killing Millions to No End

Human Wrongs Watch

KUALA LUMPUR and SYDNEY, Jun 7 2022 (IPS)* – Food crises, economic stagnation and price increases are worsening unevenly, almost everywhere, following the Ukraine war. Sanctions against Russia have especially hurt those relying on wheat and fertilizer imports.

Unilateral sanctions illegal
Unilateral sanctions – not approved by the UN Security Council – are illegal under international law. Besides contravening the UN Charter, unilateral sanctions inflict much human loss. Countless civilians – many far from target countries – are at risk, depriving them of much, even life itself.

Jomo Kwame Sundaram

Sanctions, embargos and blockades – ‘sold’ as non-violent alternatives to waging war by military means – economically isolate and punish targeted countries, supposedly to force them to acquiesce. But most sanctions hurt the innocent majority, much more than ruling elites.

Like laying siege on enemy settlements, sanctions are ‘weapons of mass starvation’. They “are silent killers. People die in their homes, nobody is counting”.

“Gun Control” at the Pentagon? Don’t Even Think About It

Human Wrongs Watch

SAN FRANCISCO, USA, Jun 1 2022 (IPS)* – New outcries for gun control have followed the horrible tragedies of mass shootings in Uvalde and Buffalo. “Evil came to that elementary school classroom in Texas, to that grocery store in New York, to far too many places where innocents have died,” President Biden declared over the weekend during a university commencement address.

As he has said, a badly needed step is gun control — which, it’s clear from evidence in many countries, would sharply reduce gun-related deaths.

But what about “gun control” at the Pentagon?

Occupation, Discrimination Driving Israel-Palestine Conflict, Recurring Violence

Human Wrongs Watch

(By UN News)* — Ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory, and discrimination against Palestinians, is essential to stopping the decades-long conflict between the two sides, a new UN independent human rights body said on Tuesday [7 June 2022].

The finding comes in the first report by the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel, established last May by the UN Human Rights Council.

The Commission said occupation and discrimination are the key root causes of the recurrent tensions, instability, and drawn out nature of the conflict in the region.
