With over 40 Palestinians killed and more than 5,500 injured during protests in Gaza over the past month – many by live ammunition – the top United Nations human rights official on 27 April 2018 called on Israel to ensure that its security forces do not resort to use of excessive force amid the ongoing demonstrations.

Rome, 26 April 2018, (FAO)* — A new study has found that food products linked to their place of origin are economically and socially beneficial to rural areas and promote sustainable development.

In nine cases analysed in a recent FAO study, origin-linked registration substantially increased the price of the final product.

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict is continuing with no prospects for a political resolution and “Gaza is about to explode,” a senior United Nations official on 26 April 2018 said, urging both sides to avoid further clashes along the enclave’s border.
