the world’s accessible freshwater, and they supply water to half of the world’s largest cities. They are home to over 300 million people worldwide, and more than 1.6 billion people depend on them for their livelihoods. They provide medicinal plants, timber, fuel, rubber, and paper, and they can absorb 20 per cent of world’s greenhouse gas emissions.

They are our forests. Yet, humans are just killings them!

In fact, humans are making disappear at an alarming rate, with some 5.2 million hectares of forests being cut down, every single year. Simply because trade in timber and other forest products is estimated at some 400 billion US Dollars (some 350 billion euro), a year.

They are many ways to stop killings nature, essentially by changing human lifestyle, based on over consumption.

Stop complaining, protest, act, join world campaigns against killing nature, sign appeals, write letters to politicians, explain to your neighbours, colleagues and… consume what you really need, not one single extra table napkin or sheet of paper. 2011 Human Wrongs Watch
